seat belt wall bracket

I was lucky and found 2nd row captain chairs from a ford van to replace the old worn out chairs. They look great and fit. the issue i'm having is the removal of the old wall mounted seat belts. 4 screws and 2 bolts later they are off. now to figure how to remove a plastic piece that was under the wall mounts. can anyone tell me how it done? I dont want to just tear them off and ruin the wall paper under neath the plastic.
suggestions are appreciated.
