Theater chair will not recline

I just purchased a 2023 Forester 3051. One of the two reclining theater seats will not recline. The dealer said ‘too bad, could be months before a replacement motor is available’. I am not convinced it is the motor. I have determined there is no power at the switch. Does anyone know if there might be a fuse involved? If so, where is it located? Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Mine has a 110v to 12v transformer like a printer...two connections. The 110v could be disconnected...then the 12v to the chairs could be disconnected. May be an inline fuse on the 12v line as well.

Thank you. Any idea on how to get the chair apart so I can get behind it to those connections?

Depends on brand, they are all different...dig in, flashlight and mirror, good place for an endoscope camera for your cell phone.

Usually the backs have clips or latches to mate them with the bottoms. Sometimes just a press in fit, just pull straight up.

Suggest you extend the one that is working and search around under there... Maybe find a manuf label and then go to YouTube and check for how to assemble. Everything has a video now days.

With the advice provided, I now totally understand the recliners and how they work, how to access them, etc. As a Result, I know for certain it is the motor that needs replacing.
Thank you!
