They really don't know left from right.
It's been said on occasion that the assembly line doesn't know there left from their right. I was replacing the sound system with a soundbar and now I have proof. The speakers are clearly labelled and they were installed on the wrong sides.

OK ; I know a lot of things in automotive have changed in 13 years since I retired ; BUT ; directional speakers
Was there an issue with the sound that made you look at the install ?

Well realistically, you want the tweeters furthest left and right. Also when backwards if you combine the audio from the TV itself you get a weird phasing.
As far as why I upgraded? I'm adding a blu ray, and a real soundbar with a remote woofer sounds better. Getting rid of the stock head gains us a nice storage area for dvd's and such.

Whose right or left?
The installers or the equipment?

This could become a whole new thread titled something like "Can you believe the factory did this?"
It's a bit difficult to see but this is a picture of one of the four carriage bolts holding my sliding tray in. Three of the four were installed incorrectly. How, you ask?
Some factory installer is unable to put a square peg into a square hole...

It was probably built on a Monday or a Friday.

You are looking at them from the back. Could it be they are correct as they are supposed to L&R looking from the front. Just asking.

Can you really tell the difference? I've set up many speaker systems. Months later I had reversed + and -. No difference to the ear. With one high priced amp I could set distances, impedance, individual speaker volume, and at least twenty other functions. Finally went back to factory settings.

I believe the picture is simply to show that the speakers were labeled, it does not represent how they were actually installed.

Exactly.. And for those that wondered if it makes a difference, well yeah. Like when the jet or car, or bus or train passes left to right across the screen the sound crossed right to left and similar.
In our case, as the speakers are just kindof ok, I was actually mixing in the TV's speakers and as you can imagine things got pretty messy sound-wise but I just chalked it up to crap system. Not so much crap, although not high-end, being installed wrong doesn't help.
My main reason for posting was the hilarity of the speakers being LABELLED and them still being installed wrong.
