Smile Thoughts on a Coachmen Pursuit, good or not so good.

My dear wife and I are looking at purchasing a Class A 2018 Coachmen Pursuit 32WC. I would welcome some real world thoughts or suggestions on this model or newer Coachmen’s in general. We currently are in a 2005 Jayco Greyhawk SS, class c. Have owned Class As in the past late 90s early 2000s before slide outs and 5 speed trannys!
Thank you.

Now you jump up to 6 plus speed transmissions and way better computer control.

We have a 2011 Coachmen Mirada 32 DS and are pretty happy with it. We have not had any build issues with it at all.
It has the 20,500# chassis with a 228" wheelbase. Your Pursuit 32 WC has an 18,000# Chassis with a 208" wheelbase. Our base weight is 15,890 and fully loaded, we weigh in at 19,092. So ,my worry would be that the Pursuit would not have enough OCCC to meet our needs. If you think you can live within the OCCC the coach might be good for you.

My experience with Jayco comes from owning a 2007 Jayfeather 25Z. It might be different than their motor homes, but the construction was fairly disappointing, and I was constantly putting it back together. We have not had to do anything but routine maintenance with the Mirada.

We have 2016 Pursuit 33BH. This is an entry level coach and therefore the build quality is no so great. The baggage doors are travel trailer quality, floor insulation is poor and the air conditioners are very loud, like a tornado with the fan on hi. It rides on 19.5 inch wheels and we have been doing suspension upgrades to getting better handling, i.e. Cheap handling fix, steering stabilizer and rear axle trac bar. Sumo springs are coming later this month. Its not full body paint so the gel coat will need attention to prevent oxidation. We've had a problem the LCI leveling legs which the extended warranty took care of. Be careful with the Lippert slide outs sometimes the electric motors can get out of synch. These new style headlights are not that brilliant and the LED halo ring has burned out and no way to fix it. Try not drive at night. My recommendation, get a preowned Tiffin Open Road or Bounder or Newmar Bay Star. Other than that good luck and happy trails.

My wife and I bought that exact year and model one year ago. We are very happy with it overall. It is our first Class A and we knew we were getting an entry level coach as far as fit and finish. However, we take care of our trailers (and now Class A) meticulously, so we’re hoping that will help. We’ve only had a couple minor issues that needed fixing while under warranty. There is an issue with the toilet that is a design flaw that you will want to research a bit (quick-take, you’ll need a macerating toilet). We love the king bed and the large dinette. The bathroom is a bit small for me, but it’s not that big of a deal. The storage is great. Please get in touch if you have any other questions.

The headlights are a common 2007+ Chevy Tahoe and can be swapped for something better pretty easily. I’m thinking of doing the same on mine.
