Thoughts on Berkshire XLT

I have a friend who is looking at a new Berkshire xlt 43C. I am not familiar with this coach, but I told him I would do some research for him. How does it compare to Tiffin and Newmar? How is Forest River Customer service compared to Tiffin and Newmar?

We are on our second Berkshire (Husband is not allowed to go to RV Sales lots anymore!!) We have had good luck with both of our Forest River Berkshires. No major problems and if we did have a problem the warranty and parts department at the factory have responded quickly and helpfully. (We had a headlight out and the factory sent us a new light assembly which my husband changed).
We also have a great owners group. All of the owners are very friendly and helpful. We even have a Berkshire Owners Rally every year with owners coming from as far away as Canada.
I would say, if your friend is doing research, tell him to go to a campground and talk to motorhome owners. Ask them what they like or don't like about their coach.

We had very few issues with our Berkshire when we had it. It isn't a Tiffin, Newmar, or Entegra, but it is a good coach at that price point. We enjoyed our rig and considered one again but really liked the Entegra.

Our one downside was that it was difficult to keep the coach cool in extreme heat. That being said, ours was a 40 footer with only two A/C's and you are looking at 43 and three A/C's, so your experience may be different.
