It's a medium-long story and entirely my fault, so I won't bore y'all with that, but in short, the right front wheel cover on my Leprechaun 319MB jumped ship while we were on I-15 going 65 MPH thru Victorville. So now the question is do I Replace it, or Repeal the use of wheel covers and let my (lug) nuts go bare?
I
think wheel covers are purely cosmetic, with no functional value. Or maybe they even inhibit brake and tire cooling, maybe not significantly tho? If that's true, there's no good reason to replace the missing one? Or is there an actual functional value to having them?
If I did want to replace it, does anyone know a good source? I really don't want to go back to my local dealer and buy an official Coachmen one as I expect they would price that about the same as a new tire (color me cynical).
A quick Google led me to
You are being redirected... where there are wheel covers, "wheel simulators," and "nut covers." Typically "regularly $200, on sale for $40" so that's encouraging. I'm not sure if the OEM cover type is a wheel cover or a wheel simulator.
Anyone have ideas?
