WiFi Ranger question

I have a 2020 34’ Rockwood Ultra Lite equipped with a Sky4Lte WiFi Ranger. I just downloaded the upgrade. It appears I can install a Simm card and be able to obtain cellular data that way to be able to stream, etc. My question - I currently have mobile WiFi in my 2019 Buick Envision, for which I pay $20/mo for unlimited on the road use. It uses / runs through the Verizon system. Can I pull that SIMM, install it in the WiFi Ranger, and obtain the same unlimited use in the travel trailer ? Please note - I am NOT technologically savvy at all !!

Most "connected car" plans are restricted to use in your vehicle. The reason the cell carrier is willing to provide such a low price for unlimited usage is because they assume it's unlikely you'll use it in your car for that many hours.

In addition, the WiFiRanger router you have is not certified for use on Verizon.

The WiFi is thru Onstar I believe, which has always been Verizon since I’ve had it (roughly 2014)

I googled it because I was curious. It was Verizon until 2014. Verizon lost the contract and ATT took over the contract with GM for Onstar and cellular provision in GM cars from 2015 and is currently the provider.

Interesting find. I stand corrected. Thanks.
That being the case - docj, can I insert my Envision SIM card in my Sky4LTE and have “on the road” WiFi ?

I looked into this awhile back , actually some years ago. The "sim" isn't removable and in fact I'd bet there is no "sim" on newer units. For a year I used internet via my chevy volt wifi
(hybrid electric) that I could leave "on" all the time ,or at least when I wanted to use wifi for some hours. It wasn't Ideal but worked until I set up separate unlimited Verizon and att hotspots. I no longer have the Volt and the gas GMC Terrain isn't as easy to leave "on"

Even if you had a sim card in the vehicle to take out, as soon as you put the sim in a difference device the provider can pick up a different IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number for the new device. It might work for a day or so but the carrier will shut it down. I offer mobile wifi service and you can hit me up if you are interested.
