Wooden Box Under Jackknife Sofa

I want to replace the jackknife sofa in my 2019 26' Coachmen Leprechaun with a reclining sofa, but there is a wooden box attached to the slide out floor under the jackknife and I am not sure what it is. Is it possible to put in a recliner sofa?

Most likely, that wooden box you're referring to is a cover for the slide mechanisms and must be there. Check with your manufacturer on this. On a Newmar Dutch Star on the passenger side that "BOX" is 5" tall. The sofa they use on top of that is a specialty made to keep the sofa height the same as a normal sofa.
