Run your RV air conditioner with less noise using the WackO Products AC Silencer. The noise reduction range is between 3 and 6 decibels, and with the electrostatic air filter, it will help eliminate dust, lint, pollen, and other pollutants in the air.
  • Installs easily in under 15 minutes with a screwdriver, no drilling required.
  • Recycled cotton duct liner gives superior acoustic and thermal performance.
  • The air filter is a 4 layer weave design, is nonporous, mildew resistant, and does not degrade over time.
  • The filter can easily be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, or optionally removed and washed.
  • Clean the outer casing with a damp cloth or gentle cleanser.
  • Dimensions: 18" x 18" x 3".
  • Weight: 4.25 lbs.

Thanks

At the moment the manufacturer is only making silencers for Dometic and Coleman models.

If I still had our Winnebago 2201DS, I'd be seriously considering purchasing one and can see where it may be helpful in trailers where the ac is mounted in the main area where you would try to watch the television.

It is a bit pricey, but I ordered one. Will post a review once it gets installed at the end of February when we use the coach again. If it works, I'm sure the DW will have me order a second one.

I installed mine a couple of days ago. With my phone decibel app., found original assembly was 77 db at 4 ft and with AC Silencer, 72 db at same location. Simple to install, but you do lose a little headroom.

In the video it is clear the new cover is smaller than the Coleman ceiling unit, so the old screw holes will not be covered. I'm grateful for the video pointing that out. I would be interested in this product when that is rectified.

It’s a must!

Purchased our first one last year, and cannot believe the difference. Highly recommend this silencer. No longer have to turn up the TV when the A/C comes on. Ordering #2 before our next trip in March for the bedroom.

I do consider that a design shortcoming. I wonder if that was because he is using the same pn that he used for the Dometic. If my coach was older, I would be concerned about ceiling discoloration showing more than the screw holes, but our coach is new enough that hopefully it won't be an issue.

My first thought was that it looked like it would restrict the air flow.

Have they tested for the volume of air flow?

Ours (Dometic Version) is great, and I do not believe that the airflow is reduced any more that the original filter and inlet. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

Been watching this thread and thinking about getting one for our rig with a Dometic 15,000 unit. But I have one concern...it appears that for the ducted unit product, it does away with the vent for the "quick air/cool dump" feature.
If that is correct, have you found it to be a problem?

I was looking at this a couple of months ago and just delayed pulling the trigger, I expect I'll get one eventually.
However I couldn't find pictures on their website of the intake without a cover for the Coleman model, so I could check to see if it matched mine. I emailed and asked about that and his reply was "If you click on the Coleman model in the cart you can see the pictures. ". Sure enough, that works. He answered a few other questions via email also. I can't yet speak about the product, but before the sale service is commendable.

Yes, you do lose the max cooling vent on the bottom of the unit. But I believe that is the source of much of the noise. It depends how your ducts are set up, I guess.
