05 Monaco Knight, High Idle
My owners manual talks about using the "high idle" feature for 3 minutes when it is cold out to help bring engine (Cummins ISC 330) up to operating temp. Nothing in the manual says how to set high idle.
Is this a manual feature? Or an automated engine feature? The manual specifically says to set it.

Turn the cruise on and click “resume”. Can increase from 1000 rpm to 1200 by clicking “set”.

On my coach it is a momentary toggle switch you just keep toggling it up and the engine will increase rpm up to about 1000 . My switch says “idle adjust” on it and is on the panel with the transmission buttons. I usually start the coach and idle it up to about 700rpm for a couple minutes, then up yo 800 or so. Then a little higher

On my coach, which is identical to yours except for floor plan, I turn the Cruise ON with the engine at low idle. After I let it idle for a few minutes while I check the ScanGaugeD for coolant temperature (not too cold) and the oil pressure (not too high) I press the SET switch and observe the RPM increase from low idle to 1000 RPM. If temps and pressures allow I can push RESUME and the RPM increases from 1000 to 1200 RPM.
To return to low idle I push CRUISE CANCEL.
Are you sure your manual says to use high idle FOR three minutes or AFTER three minutes at low idle?
It pays to be nice to your equipment.

I would just use the toggle button the manufacturer put in the rig to raise the idle just a tad. Just enough to keep it from loping or stalling. At 1000 rpm on a cold start you have to much oil pressure for my liking. I know your gauge probably reads less but my bluefire will show 90 lb or more at 1000 rpm cold

No "toggle button" for raising engine idle speed exists in a 2005 Monaco Knight unless modified after initial sale.

No problem. I have many times assumed (wrongly) that my coach, engine and brakes are configured just like others are with similar coaches.

The High Idle is part of the Smart Wheel function. Increase your idle as described above.
In 2005, the Smart Wheel high idle feature also let you change the engine idle speed for everyday use. I noticed that my idle kept getting lower on my 2005 Diplomat. I finally realized I was pressing the cruise control button when the cruise was turned off. I was accidentally lowering the engine idle. Back then my ISL should be set at 700 rpm. I looked for instructions on how to set the idle, but didn't find any. It's been many years, but I believe with the cruise off and engine running, you can change the idle speed by pushing the UP or DOWN cruise buttons, 50 rpm at a time.
