100AH Aqua hot problems
Last week I was boondocking and the last day I went to take a shower and had no hot water. The red light would come on and then go out after a minute or so and the system wouldn't stay running. I serviced the unit and replaced the nozzle, cleaned these burner, adjusted the electrodes and cleaned the photo cell. When I got done I started it up and it ran really bad and smoked terribly. I immediately shut it off, now the fan motor starts but no burner. I don't believe the ignition coils are firing. Has anyone run into this?

More than likely by the last day the battery voltage was too low for the pump motor to urn fast enough to have good spray pattern and flooded the chamber. Did you check to see if the control panel indicated any faults? Do a reset and check operation.

I did try the reset. I also had the generator set to turn on before the voltage got too low so I am not sure that is the problem but thanks for the thought.

Steve,
Have you joined Roger Berke's Hydronic Heating Forum? If not I would highly suggest that you do.
He will solve your problem quickly or you may even find a thread or two where someone had the same problem.
Roger is the best in the country and is one of only a few that I will allow to work on my Aqua-Hot unless I am really in a pinch while up on Alaska.

Mine started to smoke badly last summer. Sent the burner to Roger. Motor would only make 2500 rpm instead of the required 4500 rpm. I hope yours is a simpler fix.

I found the small leak which quickly became a large leak when the drain hose broke off at the boiler. Unfortunately I can't use the 11mm Allen socket to remove the broken end as it has deteriorated so much that I will have to dig it out by hand without damaging the threads. Still haven't fixed the ignition.

Didn't realize that you had a leak with the Aqua-Hot too.
As Fred W. would say; press on smartly!

Wow, what a pain in the butt! Finally removed the broken stub from the boiler and installed a new drain. Filled it with 16 gallons of boiler fluid and distilled water. Now I have to diagnose why it doesn't fire up. More to come!

Here is the last installment on the aqua hot saga. I checked everything I could and decided the problem was probably the control board so I took it into the RV shop and had them diagnose it and replace it for me since I have an extended warrant and the deductible was cheaper than the price of the part. Finally had a chance to check it out and it works great now.

Steve,
Did you purchase one of the new Solid-State control boxes (WPX-287-962-S) or one of the older relay style silver boxes?
