12 volt blu-ray player for TV in class A
Has anyone found a good 12v blu-ray player to use in conjunction with a flat screen LED TV in their motorhome?
Thanks,
Tom

Well, often when we are driving, the grandkids like to watch video's on the rear TV. 12v is the only option unless I run with the generator running and that isn't a very economical solution.
Thanks,
Tom

Use a simple 12v - 110 inverter. Cost about $7.50 and up.

If not boondocking, the inverters would prolly be the cheapest way. If boondocking, a 12vdc player would be the most efficient due to no conversion losses.
You can also find a 12v 'portable' one with a video out and use that.. But most of those are DVD, not Blu-Ray.

If not boondocking use AC. A 12 volt unit would be cost prohibitive. I bought a 12 volt vcr years ago for $400.00. Now a inverter costs $7.00 (75 watt) or $40.0 for a 600 watt. Do the math.

This might help.... When I bought 2 LED TVs online, I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived as 12v with 110/12v WARTs. So I just cut the WART off and wired directly to a 12v circuit. Same with the wifes CPAP machine except I bought a 12v cord for it. So as it turned out, we have no need for an inverter.
My point is, many low power devises these days are actually 12v with WARTs. I would have to believe you could find one setup this way and perhaps they all are, just something to look into.

How do you get rid of the warts? Freeze them off?
