1983 Holiday Rambler Imperial

My daughter bought it and I have to try to fix things!!! It's on a Ford Econoline chassis.
I'm looking for:
1. Help with brakes on tag axle
2. I'm looking for the 4 relay control unit for the steps
3. I'm looking for help trying to figure out how to get the generator started (it turns over but the push button turn on/off switches don't work)

Any knowledge in these areas would be helpful!
Any places to check for old rv parts would be helpful too.

You have a bit of a project on your hands.
Brakes:
These units used third party components. Generally from wherever the lowest bid supplier could be found. Your best bet is to disassemble the brakes and use the old parts as a guide to identify the manufacturer of the brakes.
Steps:
Most of these were Kwikee electric steps. They used a control unit housed in a plastic housing underneath the steps themselves. Many times the problems are blown fuses and/or corrosion of the connectors underneath the motorhome. The control units fail, and some replacement control units are still available, but at that age I would simply replace the steps with new ones.
Generator:
You are going to need to identify the brand and model of generator and then do a net search for the owners and installation manual. Most of the units of that era were equipped with tubular automotive type fuses located inside the generator cover. Switches themselves are usually generic snap in types, and available at most NAPA auto parts stores. Take the old non-working switches with you to locate new switches. The gasoline powered generators have carburetors that corrode. The propane fueled generators have control valves that fail. You need the manuals to troubleshoot.
