1984 Diplomat Motorhome

I have a 29' 1984 Diplomat Class A Motorhome. My motorhome was vandalized. All the batteries and battery cables have been stolen and cut. Could someone send my a diagram of how the batteries should be connected. One of the batteries was a large and one was regular size.

I'm not familiar with your coach, but this is pretty generic. The large battery was for the coach, which runs the lights and other 12v items.

The smaller one is the chassis battery which is used to start the engine and takes care of the 12v system of the chassis.

Both batteries are 12v. Get a starting battery to replace the small one. Get a true 12v deep cycle for the coach. Avoid any battery that says "marine'.

Start with the chassis battery. I'll assume the cables were cut. Follow the red cable (positive) to it's source. Then measure from there to the pos terminal on the new battery. Now purchase a new cable with the proper ends and length. The black cable is the ground. It should run to the frame. Measure and purchase a ground cable to run from the frame to the negitive connection on the battery.

Do the same thing thing for the coach battery. Red is pos +, black is neg -.

Thanks for the information. I really need a diagram showing the connections at the relay and the battery disconnect. The cables were cut so short that I can not determine what goes where. The negative for both batteries does go to the frame at the same location but they are seperate.

Ok, you have the grounds covered. Doesn't make any difference which one you use for either battery.

Do you have 2 or 3 cut positive cables left? Can you take pics of where these cut wires are connected?
