1989 Monaco Crown Royale
Just purchased. Bought new battery, new ignition, and had the starter checked and all is good with it. But we can't get the starter to turn over at all. Can anyone give us information of what else we can check to get it to crank. Last owner had just cranked it 2 months ago. Baffled owner.

Sorry but I'm definitely not a mechanic!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I also have a 1989 Crown Royale Signature, I have the L-10 Cummins and also had troubles getting the engine to turn over. The starter is 12 volt, not 24 volt like some other diesel brands. I usually had the most problems with mine after driving it for a half hour or more. I replacing 2 relays on the front panel under the hood and also the starter solenoid as well as bench testing that 55 lb starter 3 times. Turned out to be the transmission neutral safety switch was intermittant and had heat soak issues. My transmission is the 4 speed Allison, there are 3 different universal models. I pulled mine out and took it into the Allison regional center here in Salt Lake City, now works every time. Also remove and clean your battery cable ends, my negative ends were corroded and the frame studs had heavy rust and needed cleaned well. Hope this helps.

We took the starter off and cleaned all the terminals & wires, reinstalled it and it cranked. Now one side doesn't have any air lift, so that shall be our next project on it.
Thanks for all the info.
