I think I might be picturing your issue but also I think we are all still confused about the "tapes". If you mean the faucet handles or "taps" that makes more sense.
Is this what you are talking about?
If so it is EZ to replace. Pop off the center caps on the handles. Remove screws and the handles. Then the big retention nuts and the cover comes off. There should be enough free slack in the pipes to pull the faucet out and unscrew the fittings. Fittings are very standardized and old will fit new.
If this is NOT what you are referring to then I do not have a clue.
