1999tropical/generac generators

Just getting started in rving. Having big trouble getting the Generator to start. It will not turn over but,i can hear the fuel pump running-the choke open when I push the Start and Prime Buttons. It will not turn over or anything for that matter??? I have put new house batteries in (2) 6 volt in series. It acts like it is DEAD, will not turn over. It does have the remote start on the dash and I tried to Start it there as well, with nothing happening. What am I missing ???????
Thank You For Your Help
With This,
Jim

I had generac 5500 gas in my previous RV. There was a fuse on the panel by the start button. Make sure that is good. Check leads to starter motor and ground.

If that doesn't work, check the starter. I put 2 in my generac 4k. pita unless you have room above it.

Just a question here. You put 2 - 6 volt batteries in series but your coach batteries were probably 2-12 volt batteries in parallel. Do you actually have 4 - 6 volt batteries in series and parallel or have you just got the 2- 6 volt batteries. If you have that, I wonder if you have sufficient amount of power going to the starter?
