1st over 10 year old rejection yesterday
One on the service centers we use won't work on older coaches unless they have seen it in person.
The reason, and it makes some sense is to me, is wires are corroded, fittings rusty, dry rot, too often what should be simple turns into a major repair.
My advice is if your coach is in good shape, ask if you can bring it in to get an estimate, if they are cautious about older units.

It's called "buying a problem". You have a business plan, you're good at certain things, and you lose money doing other things. So you stick to what you're good at, what makes money.

Seems like there are as many excuses as there are RVs. Beats me....the prices are over the moon, they quote a couple weeks, always takes a couple of months. And you have to get mad and be a jerk to get them to finish it. You drive it a few miles and find something else they messed up. Some won't work on your coach if you didn't buy it from them. I think that Warranty work on new units they sold, will continually push your work down the list. Lot of them don't listen, when you describe the situation,
Certainly not a customer oriented business

The OP posts that an RV repair shop won't work on his 10 year of RV......no other info, no reason provided, no statement by the RV shop.......yet the majority of you immediately condemn the RV shop.
A reasonable person would want to see a response/policy from the RV shop before making a decision to condemn them. How about a little investigation before making an uninformed statement!

Had the same thing happen to me this year on my 11-year old coach. The bearings in the radiator cooling fan failed and the fan came off the hub, stuck in the radiator shroud, ripped the serpentine and v-belts. Don't recall the name of the shop but it was in the Spokane, WA area. I was pi$$ed for a moment but fortunately found Western States Caterpillar in Spokane Valley, WA that made the repairs.

The reason was pretty clear to me. The reason should not have been given. A simple we don't do that type of work.
"Service man said their shop won't work in coaches over 10 years old"
Bad policy IMO. Hope the OP lists the location and shop name. They can choose to have this policy and we can can choose who to have work done on our coaches.

bad policy? news flash;; the person whom owns the business has every right in the world to choose what they want to work on, NOT you
Just because they wont fix my neighbours 20 year old beater MH does not mean Iam going to shun the shop in any way shape or form if its a shop that I use or would use to have my RV repaired
geez maybe people would be better off to mind their own business instead of other peoples

those of us with older rigs sure could use this information to save me the time of either calling or going there in hopes of getting help. Just because some don't need the info doesn't mean others don't. The business has every right to deny service for whatever reason, just as we all have rights to spread their names all over the RV world to show our displeasure.
Here's to hoping your rig never gets over 10 years old. Or a dealer decides they don't like blue motorhomes, or diesels, or gasses, or units that use propane, or the color of my hair.

They certainly have a right to pick and choose which rigs they service. That said, I'd also like to know the name and location; until I trade, I will not even bother that dealer with a phone call or drop in.
When I am ready to move to a different motorhome, I might not shop such a dealer. I'd prefer my dealer support the rig they sell as long as possible. If I fall in love with and buy a well-kept seven year old high-end unit, I would not want to hear they will consider my baby too much trouble in only three short years.

My rig is turning 23 years old come Jan 1st, and is in mint shape with no corrosion anywhere, wiring is mint ect. If, any repair shop turned me away with that kind of attitude, I would blast them any way I could !!!

OP should post the info on the shop. We then know not to go there if our coach is more than 9 years and 11 months old.
Good service should be rewarded. Bad service should also be shared so we all know where NOT to go.
Here is a decent site that is gaining some traction:
