I recently took our coach out for a cold weather outing. The front area seemed cold and very hard to get warm in. We had the curtains closed. Anyone with similar experiences.

Assuming you are talking about when parked.

The front window/windshield is not well insulated. Some of that insulated bubble-wrap made a huge difference this summer in the heat of the southwest this year. We only had one AC unit working and with the wrap and a box fan to move the air, we made it very comfortable since the rest of the DSDP is well insulated.

The curtains are not going to do much. Go to a heavy blanket. We have the cab walk through covered with a blanket and it makes a huge difference.

We had a 2000 DSDP 3865, I always carry a small cube heater to put up front when it got cold put. Or I had a Fantastic Fan 12 volt fan and directed more warm air toward the front. In fact I still use both methods in the present rig..

You failed to mention how cold it was outside or inside and what means you used to try to warm it up. Details matter if you really want meaningful help.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I purchased
Reflectix BP48010 48-Inch by 10-Feet Bubble Pack Insulation

off of Amazon and it works great for the front window. The roll is long enough to fit edge to edge and the height is spot on. We have used this in Quartzite and we couldn't feel any heat coming through the front windshield. Additionally we bought extras so we can now cover every window in our Motor coach. Once you have it up against the window close your curtain and you will see no heat gets through. We also used this when camping in the grand canyon during the winter. The coach stayed nice and warm with no cold drafts coming from the front. Great investment if you ask me.

Yeah, it's the nature of the beast. You have a huge glass area with no insulation and limited heat in that area as well. The windshield isn't the only cold part - there is a lot of side glass too, and the front firewall may have leaky air gaps where the multitude of wires and hoses pass through. Anything you can do to help blanket the glass areas will help, and I suggest a gap inspection of the under-dash area as well. One trick is to put a bright light under the dash at night and look from the outside for bright spots. If the front cap opens out, open it p and look. Also from underneath if you can.

As said above, the aluminized bubble wrap for the windows works great. it is also available at Lowes and Home depot.
