2000 Georgie Boy Landau DP - Questions....

Long time reader, first time poster....

I am in the process of buying a 2000 GB Landau 3610 and have a few questions... I am purchasing from Camping World assuming they can fix some issues it had yesterday when I looked at it.

CW says the engine is 300HP Cummins, but from what I have found online most have a 260HP Cummins? Does anyone know which is correct, or could have GB put different engines in these models?

I also assume it has the Allison 1000 5spd transmission, but no one has been able to say for sure

Our current MH is a 1995 Pace Arrow gas model, so this was the first DP I drove and I must say the ride was AWESOME! I did notice when pulling out from a stop and pushing the gas pedal to the floor it took a little while to respond and accelerate? Is this common in a Diesel of this vintage? Once it got moving it ran great and the transmission shifted normally and smoothly.

The issues CW is working on are the Leveling Jacks, which would not extend and the main CB upfront for the gennset. It tripped several times, but the first time it tripped the power cord was not plugged in the bay, so no load was even on it, which leads me to believe a simple CB issues, which they are replacing. When test driving the Genset performed fine running the AC for the wholr 15-20 minutes wihtout a problem, so it seemed logical that it is a CB issue.

Also, does anyone know where I can find an owners manuals for this motorhome since GB no longed is making coaches. The freightliner site only give manuals back to 2002, how can I find a 2000 Freightliner manual? I would also like a manual for the Cummins Diesel Engine, but will probably have to wait for delivery to get the info off the engine to locate the manual.

Any other comments on this DP would be greatly appreciated.

Get the VIN and call Freightliner at 1 800 FTL HELP they should be able to tell you which engine and transmission are in it. You can call any time day or night 365 days.

X2 on the Freightliner help desk, assuming it is a XCS chassis, for information. I think the hours to talk to a live tech are 8:00 to 4:30 EST. Also, there are several regular posters on the forum that have similar coaches and could probably e-mail you a pdf manual. Finally, there is a Georgie Boy owners web-site that is still active and you can get info from there as well. We've had a Cruisemaster 3815 with a 300 Cat for almost 4 years and it is a great coach.

Good Luck,
WM
