You MAY be over-charging them IF you still have the OE charger/converter, instead of one of the newer "smart chargers" that can vary the charge rate according to your battery's actual needs. I'm Assuming you are using "deep cycle" 6 volt batteries. They should last for more than 2 years when kept properly charged.
