2001 Georgie Boy Landau - Power Seat Not Functional
My first posting in the community. Thanks for having me!
I have had a host of issues with this motorhome since acquiring it; however, I've really enjoyed performing some upgrades - electrical, mechanical, and structural. I've run across one that has me stumped and I'd love some help.
My D/S Power Seat is no longer working. I noticed earlier this week (post-camping trip) that the wires feeding the seat motors had been broken due to turing the D/S seat around too far when parked. I obviously was eager to affix some insulated terminals and get back to business, but when I tested the power feed from the floor wiring, I had no power.
I traced this back to the engine compartment and the power distribution panel where the 30A circuit breakers are located. I checked both sides of the breaker and found the power seat terminals were the only one lacking 12VDC. The connection to that terminal comes from the solenoid in the upper left of that compartment and the left terminal of the solenoid has no voltage; however, the right terminal has 12VDC. I'm stumped and could use some help.
I've attached a photo. Fuses have been checked and all appear to be good - the ones that I can see anyway.

So, I’m replying to myself for the benefit of anyone else who happens along this problem. Initially, I thought those were auto resetting breakers - they are not. I started checking continuity on wires to find the circuit for the seat (which doesn’t match the drawing, by the way) and found the wire to the seat. I removed it from the breaker stud and removed the power (I had 12V on the “bat” side after all) with the intention of just fastening them together temporarily to test.
I was preparing to remove the breaker, thinking it was bad, and with all of the spaghetti wires out of the way, I saw that the breaker has a manual reset button on the left side directly behind where the 12V supply wire was. Pressed the stupid thing in, reconnected, and problem solved.
Unbelievable how something so simple can suck so much life out of you and consume your thoughts.

Do not feel that you are the only one to have this experience. I had the same coach as you (Ford Chassis) and chased an electrical issue to the circuit breakers and even removed one, only to see that it could be reset. As I recall the removal was quite an issue! Oh well!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I'm not familiar with the Georgie Boy so can't help with that. Just noticed you are kinda new on the forum and wanted to say hello.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
