2002 Winnebago Journey 32td vs 32t engine

Can anyone tell me what the differance is in the Cummins 5.9 engine that is in the 32t vs the 32td. The 32T is 275HP and the 32TD is 300HP. Is there a physical difference or just programming? also what is the torque for each.
Thank You
Lance

I don't see a spec for torque listed between the 32T and 32TD, however the TD came with a lot of added features / options, some of which are only available on the TD. One thing that I do see is that the 32TD has the Allison 3000, 6 speed transmission, whereas the 32T only has the Allison 2000, 5 speed transmission.

Also, the weight ratings on the 32T are quite a bit less than the 32TD.

GVWR / GCWR for 32T is 24,350 / 28,000 lbs.
GVWR / GCWR for 32TD is 26,850 / 36,850 lbs.

This means a lot less towing capacity for the 32T.

I do like those floor plans, I looked at one for sale quite a few years ago, but the guy wanted way more than it was worth, due to what was owed on his loan, so I passed on it.

Thanks, it does seem like the TD is a more desirable coach. I am curious as to how much more torque it has, and can not seem to find that info any where.

Perhaps a call to Winnebago might be able to answer your questions or if you can get the serial number of the engine a call to Cummins would suffice, I would think to answer your questions.
A lot of times inside the rigs have them next to the drivers seats, inside on cabinet doors, etc. Hopefully someone has one that's reading this thread can answer your questions.

Welcome to the forum, Lance. Be sure to visit the iRV2 "Winnebago Industries Owner's Forum" (HERE) for lots of good threads that could answer more of your questions on older Journeys. Also, the iRV2 spin-off forum "Winnebago Owners Online Community" is another resource too (HERE).

I found the chassis specs brochure, attached below, in my files.

According to them, the 275 HP Cummins ISB used in the Journey in 2002 has the peak torque specification as:

600 lb•ft (895 N•m) @ 1,600 rpm

The 300 HP Cummins ISB used in the Journey DL in 2002 has the peak torque specification as:

660 lb•ft (895 N•m) @ 1,600 rpm

Yes, the "TD" would be the more desirable coach as it is a "Journey DL" which is an upgrade from the standard Journey. You can take a look at the brochure for that year to see the differences:

Go to THIS PAGE and click on the "2002 - Journey" link

Thank You so much, I had located the Winebago brochure but it did not have the torque info, the journey DL chassis link you sent has it all.

Exactly what i was looking for!

Thanks Again

Thank you for the acknowledgment that gets missed in so many instances.
