2003 holiday rambler ambassador m32 pbd info

Am looking at an 03 HR ambassador with the cummins 8.3 and the allison 3000 tranny. Anyone have any opinions good or bad concerning this coach. Its on the roadmaster chassis. The owner says he did the rear suspension link recall in 2010. It has 65000 miles on it. He has it listed right at the nada value. Looks very well cared for and stored indoors every winter of its life. I havent seen it yet, but looks good on the pictures and talking to the owner on the phone. Am going to see it in a few days. Tires are five years old. He says it has a two piece aluminum roof which I am not too familiar with. The spec sheet he sent me says it has fibreglass gelcoat walls. It also lists a rotocast booth dinette with drawer. Anyone know what a rotocast booth dinette is. Im sure I will find out when I see it. Thanks for any input.

One other thing I might add is lists air over hydraulic brakes. Anyone have an opinion on these as opposed to regular air brakes or standard hydraulic brakes. thanks.

If they are disk brakes, they will always be better then drum brakes. Cooler running, self adjusting and more stopping power.

The new stopping distance regs are pushing large trucks to go to them.

The big difference is the master cylinder is stroked by an air chamber. The air chamber is controlled by a standard, air brake, treddle valve.

The air chambers are like front, drum brake, chambers.

Cat payloaders and rock trucks used air over hydraulic brakes for many, many years. They were about the same, maintenance wise, as standard air or hydraulic systems.

Thanks, I will check to see if I can see discs or not. I will still have to get a air endorsement for my licence even though they are technically hydraulic brakes I guess. Ontario requires a air ticket to operate anything with air brakes.

Check if the owner went with the factory recall trailing arms. If he did the problem still exists, the replacement arms have the same problem. If he went with the Source Engineering replacement your good. Replacement will be in the $3000 range.
