Thanks for the update, I recently dealt with a similar problem in a standby generator, turned out to be corrosion on the inside of the crimp for the positive battery cable. Still not sure if the problem was at the battery end or the starter end, as I replaced the cable, everything on the outside looked good, but it just would not pass current.
