thanks for the help! problem is that it is not the selector indicator, its the actual shift cable that selects the gears. Ford says the part number is 1C3Z7E395AA. My repair shop has tried custom cable shops and they cant put the special ends on it, Ford is no help. the Southwind 32v on the ford chassis was a top selling coach. Its hard to believe this part is not available!
well to update the situation, I was unable to find the factory replacement cable. Fairway RV in yorba linda California was able to find someone to make a cable, however, it did not have the factory ends on it. The repair shop was able to adapt the ends to work on the chassis and it works well. they also did a much better job of routing the cable away from the hot exhaust. the original cable ran very close (I think recently made worse by the addition of the banks header system). the old cable failed right where it was closest to the header. After 2 weeks, I got the RV back just 18hrs before our week long family vacation. Cudos to Marty at Melendrez Trucking in Chino for doing a very nice job on the install. Shame on Ford for discontinuing support of a very common chassis
