Slideout switch made sound, but wouldn't move. I searched in vain for how to get it in manually. Can someone help me in case this happens again.
Fortunately, this time starting the engine and then turning it off reset something (what I don't know) and the slide came right in. Can anyone tell me why?

I can't address the reset issue and why it happened but many on the forum are experts and will more than likely be able to explain to you why that happened.
If you go to your owner's manual, it will address the manual operation of the slides. If you happen not to have it, I'll link it below and attach a screenshot of the page in the manual that gives those instructions (page 8-4)
I appreciate your reply, but here's the issue: The manual says to "locate the slide-out controller" (and there are two different kinds of controllers). I'm not sure where that is. Then is says to "locate the slide-out motor," which the manual says is supposedly "to one side of the slide out rails." I can't find it. Since I can't find the motor I can't find the brake lever "on the backside of the motor."
Then the manual says to "locate the manual override." Where is the issue.
I'm embarrassed to be so dense, but I have the manual and am trying to find the things pictured, but just am not seeing what's pictured.
