2004, V10, F53 smog driving patterns
I have a 2004 National Seabreeze, V10, auto that will need a smog check in California
I have noticed that there are some readiness monitors that have not set since it has been sitting and the battery went dead.
Does anyone know the drive patterns for the various monitors?

I have many of the F53 and Mirada manuals on my web site under the DOWNLOAD section.
Below is the OBD Operation for my 2001 F53. Its a 1999 manual but applies to my 2001, it may be similar to your 2004.
Scroll down through each of the "Monitors" and look at the "Entry Condition". These are the conditions that must be true before the test will be performed. I believe this is what your looking for.

My memory is a little fuzzy on this but I don't think that OBD2 is required on trucks over 14,000 GVWR. Even though Ford did include some OBD2 anyway they may not have elected to include all of the monitors that your scanner is able to read. In Washington state when emmissions testing is required on heavy trucks they do a tailpipe test only instead of reading any OBD2 data. Does California use OBD2 data or a tailpipe test for over 14,000 GVWR.

Depends on the year. With my 99 chassis they do both tailpipe and OBD. While mine has an OBD II connector the certification tag says it is only OBD I certified. Some time back a member posted the link to the CARB for the years that still require tailpipe or OBD only test. Don't remember which year they start doing OBD II only test for 14,000# and above.

I think this is also a requirement that varies state to state. I live in CA and need to smog my rv every other year. My UVW is 16k.

The OP and I are also from CA.
Dntsdad,
I believe it takes around 60 miles for the ECM to be ready for the emission testing.
