2005 Alpha See Ya Slide Problem

I have a neighbor in my CG that arrived a couple days ago. They just picked up the coach from an operation in Nappanee, IN that had it for 7 months doing a lot of custom work and paint to it.

It is unclear if anything was done on the front, driver side slide but it is not stuck in the extended position. It is a flat floor slide with 5 rollers. The slide appears to be sagging at the ends to the point you can't see either of the outside rollers and the bottom of the slide is resting on the frame around it.

The retract button starts to motor and for about a second it acts like it is trying then quits. We put jacks on the slide ends and raised it about 3/4" thinking the ends were bound up but no difference.

We are not able to find any kind of control board and perhaps there isn't one. According to the owner all the relays are located up front under the hood which I can see.

1. Is there some kind of control board (like my Newmar has) that could be amping out?

2. What would need to be done to disconnect the slide from the motor drive to manually push it in. (Being on a ramp...I'm wondering if that is even possible.)

Any thoughts?

THANKS 007!

None of the links seemed to pan out to any specific information that could be used. Today my friend had a mobile RV Tech stop by and they finally used some leverage to get the slide past the "jam" where it came in the rest of the way on its own. What ever is jamming it up seems to occur at the very end of the extension process. Fortunately he can now drive the coach and had already set up an appointment at a shop near his home in TX to figure out what is wrong.

Wondering if you found out what problem was, I have same year and model M/H with exactly the same problem you described. Thanks Keith

The bedroom slide relays are in the compartment behind the rear passenger's side wheel where the hydraulic pump is.

As for the original post, Alfa slides do not have any control board. Just the switch and several relays. Many of us have simplified the system by replacing the relays with a reversible winch relay.

As for the sliding problem, it's a common problem. The two end rollers bear most of the weight, and eventually either the roller itself starts to collapse, or the ramp it has to roll up collapses, or (worst case) the slide floor itself it rotting and collapsing. They probably has the work done in Nappanee at MCIRV. Too bad they didn't have them address it, because the specialize in Alfas and any local shop is probably going to waste a lot of $$$.

If you still have contact with the Alfa owner, turn him on to www.groups.io/g/alfaseeya. It's a technical forum for Alfa owners.
