2005 Tropical T399 Freightliner

Can someone tell me if the front mirror arms will rotate flush with the front of the coach?
if i cant rotate they will be sticking out my shop and wont be able to close the door

JMHO: If you're that tight on clearance to the door, you'll probably be in trouble with the front bumper as the air suspension lowers.
The action of the suspension " kneeling " will move the coach body forward approx 4". The rear tires don't move but the geometry of the front suspension causes the forward movement as it airs down.

Not without loosening the set screws for the mirror arms. But if you do that, you should shorten the over length by several inches.


It's a Velvac brand mirror if you want to look up the parts diagrams.

As Gary has said, it's a Velvac mirror that was used as OE (original equipment) and I'm fairly certain it's a 2030 series that was used on the Tropi-cal. The set screws that he is referring to are located on what Velvac refers to as the "9-inch radius base"

I have attached service bulletin #103 that shows the location of the set screws and the components and function of the radius base along with the instructions on replacing the head, arm, and base.
