2006 Bounder brakes

I would like to improve the braking power on my 2006 Bounder. I am going to replace the rotors and pads on al 4 wheels. Any suggestions on a good rotor and pad.

If your brakes are not worn out, replacing them will not improve you're braking. There are some things that can cause poor brake performance, but we need to know what chassis you're on to even start with any suggestions.

Gas? Diesel?

What chassis?

His profile states 2006 34' bounder, which is a gas chassis, most likely a workhorse.

My advice, Through the years I've found that OEM parts perform better than different brands. Yes a lot of aftermarket brake parts tout their quality and the reason they are so good; ask for testing proof.
That is the major part of the equation; the other part is the driver's style of driving.

When was the last time the calipers was replaced or rebuilt? Old sticky calipers will cause poor braking. As for rotors, all 4 rotors on my 95 Bounder are original. Food for thought.

If the flexible brake hoses haven't been replaced recently, do so during the brake job. Ford and several other auto mfgrs. recommend flushing and replacing brake fluid every 3-5 years.

If you have tow/ haul, use it. It improves braking by using engine compression.

The brake hose issue was associated with the junk that Chevy put on the P32 chassis. Those are days gone by.

If the existing pads are worn down, by all means replace them, but if not it's just a waste of money. The best pads in the world can't make more square inches of friction surface against the rotors.

Is this a repair to fix deteriorating braking, or does the coach brake the same as it did years ago and you are trying to make it better than it was when new? ANd if the brakes are getting worse, what are the symptoms? Pads are just one of several possibilities.
