2006 Gulf Stream Sun Cruiser

A car dealership in our area has this motorhome on the lot, it looks & sounds like a good buy , but I don't know much about Gulf Stream motorhomes . If anyone can give me first hand experiences is appreciate it . We are considering upgrading to what may be our future full time rig.

Hi there... we owned a 08 Gulf Stream Independence FRED and it was a beautiful unit. For the most part we had relatively no issues except for the normal....change in fuel filters, brakes , etc.

As you probably know Gulf stream priced themselves out of the MH market and no longer manufactures MH's. For the most part everyone we talked to that owned or previously owned a GS loved their rigs.

We traded up from a FRED to a Tuscany DP. If it's in good condition, you like the layout and you can make a great deal on it I say go for it!

We purchased our GulfStream Independence a year ago and have been wintering in it this year. After talking with other rv'ers that have both new and used, as well as, different manufactures, they all have issues. I've read a few negative articles about GulfStream, however, I filter the comments and understand that many (not all) are from owners that are experiencing issues. I often read for future information that will help, should an issue arise, and they will.
We are well pleased with our unit and plan to spend a great deal of time using it...may even sell our sticks and bricks when we get home.

We had a 2007 38 foot Sun Voyager for 4 years and had a great time in it. It was all GM with the 8.1 litre motor with plenty of power. It was comfortable and some what of a beast to maneuver till I put air bags on the rear to stabilize the rig. The wife and I just up graded to a Tuscany DP and do wish the floor plan was like that of the Gulfstream we had. No real problems with the Gulfstream though.

We have a 2003 Gulfstream Yellowstone and as others have commented it is very well built. We have had a few issues with the coach but mostly due to previous
owner not maintaining it properly. We would definitely buy another if needed.

Have had one issue I can blame on Gulfstream. Not sure what your floor plan is or what type of slides it has, but, look at the rear slide, mine is electric and rides on 3 rollers and the covering on the bottom of the slide gets smashed and disintegrates, I saw a unit with this problem, left unchecked, and the wood had rotted. Also we had problems with the gasket around that rear slide, on the sides the gasket has got snagged and torn, so when we went to get it repaired, we noticed the top of the gasket wasn't even touching the top of the slide, not torn, straight as an arrow, and the slide is not saging. Still love my coach, just something for you to make sure to check
