2006 Newmar Crank Window

I have an escape window in the bedroom of a 2006 Kountry Star that cranked all the way in (crank wheel is stopped solid) but still leaves cracks around seals and does not stop vertical but slightly slanted. This is allowing small bugs to enter the MH and is very annoying.

Anyone had something similar?
Please advise ideas to fix.

The foam seal on these will deteriorate with time. Check to see if it has broken apart a bit and is keeping the window from closing. You may see bits stuck to the glass. If the window won't fully shut, look up near the top where the glass pivots, that may be where it can't compress any loose bits of foam. The mechanism itself is pretty simple so more than likely something it preventing it from closing properly.

One other note, not sure when you last opened the emergency latches and swung the window open but when I first did mine it took a lot of time to open. I replaced the foam seal and now dust it twice a year with baby powder so the emergency window opens quick and easy.

Watch those emergency escape windows. A lot of the newer ones are designed to fall off the hinges when released and fully tilted up.
