I full timed in a 2007 scepter (camelot's sister) for 10 years. It was a great coach, no major issues to speak of.......Bruce

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
Check the bottom corners of the slide outs for separation and rot.

Thanks for the replies.

The coach is in very good condition with some issues due to age. No moisture smells or obvious sings of water damage inside however; on the roof there are two spongy places each about 1'x1'. One over the entrance door and one over the passenger side bedroom slide.

The windshield wipers are defective. Owner says he uses rainx and it's fine. He says wiper motor gets hot and if replaced with a new motor it will do the same.

We couldn't get the in dash radio to work.

Couple fogged windows.

Drivers side camera needs replaced.

Please respond with any and all advise/opinions. Thanks.

What Ivylog is talking about is the white panel on the bottom of the slide outs. If the front and back edges aren't*sealed properly water can get in and the luan that the panel is fastened to can rot. Its not to hard*of a fix and there are covers made for these edges that solve the problem. I'm not sure how new you are to RVing, but they all have little*issues......Bruce

I'm sorry. The issues with the rv that I saw yesterday was on an 07 Dutch star not the Camelot.

I will be looking at the Camelot today.

Sorry. Please keep advising.

I've been doing the snowbird thing in my Camelot for 12 years. I have installed the front Watts link, ride improvement kits front and rear and X bars on the rear H frame. I was experiencing some wander and wind issues prior but this made my rig handle like a dream. Had to replace the fridge cooling unit, and tires but that's about it for major stuff. I love my rig and it has been very good at taking me and bringing me back for 12 years. The clear coat is peeling on the front cap and along the roof top sides in places but it's always exposed to the sun. IMHO, I feel that year was the last good rig built by Monaco before they died. When I ordered my rig from the factory I insisted on a motor that didn't require DEF and got a 2006 400 ISL. Not sure what motor the rig you're looking at has the DEF motor. Another thing I insisted on was the Aqua-Hot and if you rig has that make sure it has no leaks when operating. The 08's had a propensity to crack windshields but Monaco installed a "halo kit" in some rigs to strengthen the front cap so check on that. Complete maintenance records would be a must if I was looking at a different coach.
