2008 Monaco Dynasty Surge Guard

We are having trouble at our park with the electric. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where my surge guard is located on our coach? 2008 Monaco Dynasty Any help would be appreciated.

On most of the upper models of Monaco the surge protection is built in with the transfer switch.

Ditto, with transfer switch, should find indicator lights on outside of panel door or small box on top of transfer switch door.

What specific problem are you having with electricity? Half the coach works on 110 and half doesn't? Do you have a cord reel?

Always start at the source and work towards the item not working. That's how I found the problem with my cord reel........ just saying.....

Thanks everyone for your replies. I haven't been able to locate the transfer switch. I found the automatic start for the generator next to the inverter. The reason I am trying to locate the transfer switch is to insure I actually have the surge protection. During the hot days our park loses power and just wanting to make sure our coach is safe.

Follow the shore cord to the place where it joins up with the generator power cord. That will be the Auto-Transfer Switch. I have no idea where Monaco may have chosen for it. The most common locations are (1) a bay near the rear where the shore cord attaches, (2) behind the load center (breaker panel).

If the Dynasty has a power monitor, it probably will have a remote display that shows status of L1 & L2 and an error message panel.

NukNuk-

Page 186 of the owner's manual for your coach (link here) addresses the factory-installed transfer switch and its 120VAC protection properties. It also says the transfer switch is located in the pass-through bay.

There is supposed to be a power monitor panel above the passenger seat, too.

I don't have a Dynasty, and manuals can be incorrect.

Not a Dynasty, but my ATS is screwed to the ceiling of one of the pass thru bays, very close to the inverter. My ATS doesn't have built in surge protection.

Your sure that's your Automatic Generator Start module mounted near your Inverter? My AGS module is about 4" X 2", mounted in the front electrical bay. The ATS is a box about 9" X 9" with 3 heavy cables going into/ out of it.

The 2008 Dynasty brochure lists a Surge Guard Auto Transfer Switch as standard equipment, so I'm confident you have it. The typical Surge Guard ATS model back in 2008 was the #40250. I've attached the manual for it.

And here is the brochure link: https://library.rvusa.com/brochure/08_Dynasty_A.pdf

My ATS/Surge guard is mounted to the top of the bay on the roadside one bay forward of the shore power cord/reel. Pretty good sized box and most likely mounted to the roof of a pass through bay.

2005 Monaco Windsor Surge Guard Location

Mine is located in the center pass through, mounted on the floor behind the pass through wall (sliding doors allow access). It is directly behind the water heater if looking from the outside in toward the coach. Looks just like the one from the previous poster that provided the manual.
