2009 10k Onan generator clicking sound

Was at the coach today and noticed the prestart heater was clicking uncommanded all by itself

Fired it up,ran it for a while and shut it down and the clicking sound quit.

Any ideas why it would do this all on its own. What is the fix?

Thks

Our Onan QD7500 did a self start and it turned out to be moisture in a connector on the passenger side of the generator.

I took it apart, blew it out with compressed air and resealed the connector with some dielectric grease and haven't had a problem since.

Yours might be different but it's worth taking a look.

Moisture will do it as the others said.... there's a 35 pin connector on the top.... remove it and blow it out and spray with contact cleaner. Clicking was probably the fuel pump
