2011 F53 V10 Cruise Control intermittent

I have a 2011 Tiffin Allegro Open Road (F53 V10) that has intermittent cruise control. Randomly it works and if I get the on light (next to fuel indicator or dash) it sets and holds fine. Randomly if I hit the brakes, and then either resume or reset, the light doesn’t come back and it doesn’t engage. I can hit the on/off and set again with no results and the 5 mins later hit set again and it works for hours even days and the it stops again. I have gone to the engine compartment fuse box and checked that all relays/fuses are seated and that doesn’t seem to have an effect. I’m wondering if it’s the set button randomly failing but don’t know how to open up the steering wheel to check. Any ideas?

More than likely the switch, but It can be the stop light switch on the brake pedal. Next time it happens, lift the brake pedal with your foot and try again.

Ford uses a pressure switch to cancel the cruise, out on or near the master cylinder.

I suffered the same symptons and I replaced that switch and fixed it.

Ford uses both the stop lamp switch at the brake pedal, and the pressure switch. It could be either, but I submit to experience.
