2012 F53 OBDII port question...can you help??

My 2012 Bay Star is on the F53 Ford chassis. I'm contemplating getting a Scan Gauge or a bluetooth compatible reader to access OBDII information. My question is whether you can obtain gas mileage information via the OBDII port. And, what are the most important readings that would be useful under normal operation?

Yes you can. My OBDII gives me many different options including all of the error codes, instant gas mileage, average gas mileage, etc. I have an E450. I also have an OBDII plug in for my Smart car, but the one I have in my E450 have a screen that I can monitor. The Smart car plugin requires using my smart phone. I need to look up the gauge I have. I have been using it for a couple of years. It helps me monitor my speed to get the best mileage.

My Scan gauge II shows both instant and trip MPG.

I monitor trip mpg, coolant temps, voltage and RPMs. My 2000 doesn't have a tack.

Thanks for the speedy replies! Does the available information vary that much between older and newer F53 chassis years?
