2015 Thor Challenger House Batteries

We have the 2015 Challenger and two black generic no label house batteries connected together. Are they 6 volt or 12 volt?
What is the best replacement?

First you need to determine the voltage rating of the batteries. How many cells does each battery have? If it has 3 caps that would be a 6 Volt battery if it has either 6 individual caps or two long caps, then that would be a 12 volt battery. I think you have two 12 volt batteries. One of my friends had a Challenger and he installed two new 12 volt batteries. He did consider a pair of 6 volt batteries in series but there was not enough room where the batteries are housed under the steps.

I also suspect you might have two 12-volt and from what I hear, the OEM batteries in the Thor products around that time were pretty bad (Harris batteries?).

You might take a look at THIS POST as this person is posting about a 2015 Challenger and was able to fit 4 -AGM 6-volt batteries in the tray with reportedly no problem. AGM = maintenance free. He even gives what brand he purchased and the specifications plus installation tips and a photo.

Thanks for the info. That picture of a Challenger with the 4 battery set up in the compartment is where our two original 6 volt batteries are, first outside bay under the drivers seat.

"Best" - what? Price? Capacity? Charge/discharge throughput? Color? No one type of battery is "best" in all categories, so you'll have to decide what's best for what you want to do.

Our 2014.5 Challenger has two 6 volt batteries. We replace with Interstate 6 volts.
