2017 Holiday Rambler hitting front cowl

Hello to all
I have just bought a 2017 holiday rambler and unit seems to sit lower than other units in front. Well then I was coming off a main road onto a side road and hit the front on the side road. It has cracked the cowl on front. Has anyone experienced this? I am new to this forum looking to see if there is help on this or a way to contact HR seems to me it is a defect in there unit to build such a dangerous front. Thanks

I presume you have air suspension in front? If you're not mechanically inclined I'd bring it to a shop to inspect for possible airbag issues or ride height adjustment. If it's just a ride height issue it's usually quick, easy and cheap to have adjusted. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum!

Is this a diesel pusher? If so, you will want to take it to a Freightliner shop, and like Doug mentioned, have the ride height checked.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Hopefully someone will be able to comment on that.

I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. It will help folks to answer questions you may have in the future. Look at post #30 in the link below to see how to do it.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

If you are new to diesel pushers they do sit a lot lower than gas coaches. Is it just the front that sits low or the entire coach? If it's just the front then the advice on ride height is your best route.

Welcome to the forum, ditto sounds like your air ride height needs adjusting, I surprised when turning tight in parking/rv sites your tires are not rubbing against fender.

I have a 2015 HR Ambassador. For the first year, I always thought the ride height was low even after filling the airbags. I never banged, scraped, rubbed or hit anything when the airbags were filled. And the ride (down the highway) was just fine. Last year (before I had everything fixed) the rear fender well was no more then 1 1/2 above the tires with the airbags filled. Now with everything fixed, the fender well is 3 inches above the tire. Let me explain: My mechanic found several L brackets broken or missing which connect the coach to the frame. He said the coach was 1 or more inches low and 1 inch to the drivers side while riding on the airbags. Unknown how this happened. There is no signs of accident repair. Most likely just bad factory work!! Nothing was different today or last year when I inflate or deflate the airbags, other then the ride height.

Thank you everyone I will see if all air bags are at proper height and once I have an answer I'll post thanks again for the replies. Still learning how to get around in this forum.

Low Rider

We have a 2002 Coachmen Cross Country Elite Diesel pusher and we were in Arkansas when I noticed the front drivers side was a couple of inches lower than the passenger side. The air bags were fully inflated. I called the Freightliner "Help Line" number posted in the coach and they told me what to check. Upon checking the air bag ride adjuster for the driver side I noticed a bolt was broke. This bolt attaches a "swing arm" from the frame to the air bag leveler arm. This arm maintains the air suspension levelness of the coach as it rides over the discrepancies in the road. I replaced the broken bolt with one from my tool box and everything worked as it should.

When we got back to Wisconsin I replaced both front air bag adjusters at minimal cost as the old ones were rusty.

Always keep an assortment of nuts and bolts handy!

Also wondering if any one can help with the 2017 Holiday Rambler kitchen table. Once I put it down to use it for sleeping the table is very wobbly. There are brackets under table and looks like 4 legs would go to hold table up once down. If any one could send pictures of what they look like and measurements of them it would be great. I have been in touch with H R but so far no luck. Thanks again

I remember a lot of complaints back then about how low the bottom centers of the front cap was. Just a bad design by Holliday Rambler. You might want to adjust the front ride height up a inch to help some.
