2019-20 Newmar Bay Star Sport 2702 Air Conditioner for South Florida

Will the single optional 15,000 btu air conditioner keep up in 90 plus degree south Texas, southern Florida, Arizona heat?

I think you are going to find it tough for a single AC to keep up in those temperatures. Especially if you don’t get it cooling early and not letting the interior get warmed up. We have a 38’ Baystar and even with the 2 AC’s we had a tough time getting temperature down after having some repair work done and the shop turned the AC’s off before putting our rig up on their lift.

If you can add a 2nd AC you’ll be happier in the long run.

Just my .02....We owned a Bay Star 2901 a few years back (before the Bay Star became available with the 22 1/2 in wheels and heavier chassis) and it was very similar to the motorhome you are considering. We had the single 15,000 btu option and live in Florida. It was absolutely insufficient for cooling. We sold it largely due to this issue. If they offer the 2-13,500's (and I think they do), I would strongly recommend that option. Anyway....the short answer to your question is No.

My Bay Star is a 3302, just shy of 33' and when we're in hot sunny weather, it definitely needs two ac units. I wouldn't buy a motor home without two ac units. The added benefit is that when you only need to run one ac, you can run the one that is at the other end of the motor home from where you are. Even as quiet as the ac units in the Bay Star models, they can be noticeable when watching television.
