2022 Ventana 4326 vs DS 4326

Apologies Iím sure thereís some posts already about this but I havenít been able to easily find them. Iím comparing 2022 models of the Ventana and DS. Same 4326 floor plan ( bunk ). Both on spartan K2 chassis. Ventana has the L9 limited at 400hp. DS is at 450hp. Donít care much about the power. Iím coming out of a 21 discovery lxe 40g ( no tag ) with the same motor on a Freightliner chassis. My question if anyone has experienced the 22 models is, other than nicer finish outs and painted slides, is there any major I would be missing out on to justify a 200k difference in sales price ? The Ventana weíve got on hold has the heated floors, all electric, double loop oasis in 22, both nova awnings, window awnings amongst a bunch of other options. I know in the past those options were reserved for the DS. Am I missing anything BIG? Will the Ventana drive better and quieter than my discovery ? Never been in a Newmar. Bought my current coach online and buying the Ventana online. Thank you much

Does "buying online" mean you can't drive both coaches?

For what you're contemplating spending, I know I'd not make a decision without driving them both to make the decision for yourself.

Unfortunately yes, we live far away from any Newmar dealer and I donít have time to travel for test drives. Iím pretty easy going at the drive of the coach isnít an objection. Itís just a random question besides the main question. Iíd venture to say that any coach with a tag would drive better than a 40 foot non tag. Dunno. Discovery was our first coach. Weíve had it a year. Bought it online from great American in Alabama. They transported it to my house in south texas. I had never considered buying a coach before that, yet alone ever been inside one. These forums were very helpful in helping us decide and we are happy with the discovery but need the longer coach with the additional bathroom and more seating area as we are a family with 4 little ones

I am interested in both the Ventana and Dutch Star as well. One difference in drive would be the front axle. The DS has independent suspension while I believe the Ventana is a solid axle. We currently have a gas MH so I'm sure either would be an upgrade to me. But I don't know how much of a difference the IFS would make.

You also get the side radiator on the DS. Shouldn't affect the ride, but future maintenance might be easier.

One other suggestion - if you post your question on the Newmar forum, you might get more responses.

Good luck. I don't think you could go wrong with either coach.

Went from a 2017 Ventana 4369 (loved that coach) to a 2022 Dutch Star 4081. The DS has independent front suspension, the Ventana has a straight axle. There is a real difference in ride. Also, the front axle on the Dutch Star is rated higher than the Ventana.

Side radiator on Dutch Star, rear on Ventana. My Dutch Star runs cooler than my Ventana did. Also, no carpet in the Dutch Star. Hydraulic full wall slide in the Dutch Star, carpet in the full wall slide and electric slide in the Ventana.

The Ventana is a nice coach and you will be happy with either one. The Dutch Star was the coach I bought as my final coach.

Congrats on your new DS. They do have a stunning presence. I ordered a 23 that will be here in December. In the mean time I started looking around out of curiosity and when I did the “ compare “ coaches on the Newmar website, I was shocked to see the minute differences. Don’t get me wrong they are nice upgrades but as a father of 3 little ones, only using the coach to go to Disney in the summer and Colorado in the winter, it has now become hard for me to justify the massive price difference. I’ll take some non painted slides and bumpier turns over speed bumps to save 6 digits as the kids will destroy this thing just like they have our 21 discovery in less than a year. The “ msrp “ to our 23 Dutch star order came out to 723k. He en after getting 27% off we are still at half a million dollars. It’s so hard to swallow that pill. If we decide to purchase the Dutch star when it arrives, I think we will have an easier time selling the Ventana as more people could afford it? It’s extremely hard to find the bunk models and when I rarely do, they sell same day for a ton more than any other floor plan. At the end of the day, both this 22 Ventana and the 23 Dutch star will be identical floor plans and chassis and size etc. I’m not sure my 2,4,5 year olds deserve Dutch star luxury right now haha

I havenít looked at the Ď23 models and I know that based on the OPís kids ages this may not matter.

In 2019 when I was comparing the DS 4310 to the VT 4310 the bunks in the VT were a few inches longer. Since my kids were teens and older those inches made a difference to us. Bottom line is the floorplans are really close but not 100% identical between the two lines. Everyone should check on the specs that matter to them.
