'21 Holiday Rambler Armata 44LE Question

Greetings all. While some may feel this is a better Fleetwood forum question, I believe it's more appropriate here as there could be as many, if not more HR non-owners who may have input to this question. I have a friend who has an opportunity to buy a used '21 HR Armata 44LE and asked me some things, but I know nothing about the Fleetwood group. To get straight to the point, my questions/issues are:

- Is a 8k genny good enough for a 44 foot, all-electric 3-AC coach, I would expect a minimum of 10k?
- Is the AquaHot 400D sufficient especially given that only the rear of the 3 AC units is heat pump, I would expect a minimum of 450D?
- Is the TPO roof a good choice for what is supposed to be HR's top of the line, I would expect fiberglass?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Probably not, unless you don't use anything else that is electric. AC's will pull ~16 amp (depending on size), water heater another 16 amp, refrigerator etc. I'd hat to buy a supposidly higher end coach and have to worry about power.

Maybe, not sure on Aqua hot capability.

No, the TPO type roof will not hold up long term. We had one on a Class C and it needed constant attention. Prone to damage, leaks etc. Again, I would think a higher end coach would have a more durable roof. Monaco did install the TPO type roof on earlier model Windsors, a friend had his completely blow off going down the highway, big bucks to replace/repair.

I can hopefully answer a couple of your questions...

The Armada is basically the sister to the Discovery LXE line from REV...so basically the specs are almost identical between both lines. However, there are some differences with the colors, wood choices, paint schemes as well as the front and rear caps, and dashboards are different.

The roof material on the Armada and the Discovery is one piece fiberglass, and not TPO.

As for the AH, the only difference between the 450D and the 400D is that the 450D has a hot water loop feed from the engine and the 400D does not. Both operate from either diesel of electricity. The heating output is the same from both units.

As for the genny, I don't have an issue with running everything on my coach from the 8K unit. I have heard from some others that they have had issues running all 3 AC's in hot weather... But, I'll let someone else chime in on that...

Thank you both very much! I saw a couple of places that list the roof as TPO, but seeing fiberglass on the HR website does make that aspect much better. Duane, thank you for reminding me about the AquaHot 400/450 engine loop difference since I had completely forgotten about that since we downgraded from diesel last year. I will be informing my friend that I would still be concerned about an 8k genny on an all-electric 44 foot 3-AC coach, and even more concerned about only the rear of the three AC units being a heat pump, especially since they are apt to take an occasional trip after the first hard freeze of the fall/winter, or before the thaw of winter/spring. Thanks again to both of you!

I would not buy anything from Rev. Forget the badge in front. Many of their offerings are the same with a different name. An 8k gennie on that coach is a joke. Only shows how much thought went into the design. Have you considered a Newmar or Tiffin product. There is very little quality in anything below $500 or $600 thousand. Maybe look at something used.

I think Duane answered two of your three questions well. However, I would have an issue with an 8K generator for a three AC coach. I know Tiffin, Winnebago and Newmar all use 10K units.
