Interesting. Isn't this a moot point for coaches currently on the road? I'm not sure I've ever heard of a GAWR >20K on a coach...

I'm not sure I agree with his statement about a tag axle costing $10K and providing no perceivable benefit to the driver though.

There have been several manufacturers that used 24,000# axles on their rigs. One had to buy back a number of them and replace them with tag axle units. They were prohibited from some toll roads too.

Not sure if it's a good idea or not though.
