3 Parallax 503-suggestions for alternative?

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.

1.three Parallax ATS 503 in 7 years (plus major runaround on warranty from company)
2.is there a good alternative?

I really dislike campgrounds. I was in a beautiful spot in DeSoto NF, and the ATS WENT OUT on the coldest night yet.

Has anyone relocated their ATS? Four Winds, now Thor, put in on the floor, under the hall closet/drawer.The converter is in the same spot, but mounted 2 inches up the wall. One of the three that has gone out got wet. The 503 has rave reviews, but has gone way up in price from everywhere.

Any help is always gratefully received!

You can use any 50 amp ATS designed for RVs.

It can be placed anywhere the cables will allow.

Transferring electricity isn't brand spicific.

Not sure what the ATS has to do with cold nights, unless maybe you were using generator to power a space heater and starting/stopping it periodically. And you could move the genset wires to the other terminals on the faulty ATS so that it doesn't have to switch to use the generator.

In any case, something must be damaging the ATS to have multiple failures like that. Water? Dirt? Broken wire connections? You can try a different brand (see twinboat's reply), but if something external is causing damage that may not solve the problem.

Alternatives include TRC/Surgeguard 40100, Progressive Dynamics PD52V, Go-Power TS-50, etc. Maybe cheaper than Parallax too.

Thank you. Parallax specifies that the ats must be horizontal and on the floor. The last one got wet because the outdoor shower is directly above the compartment.
After that failure, everything was sealed tight and the outdoor shower is not used.
So, I will know when this one comes out.
I am having a difficult time finding service near Biloxi.
