30 amp to 50 amp service?

With the horrific heat and the lower voltage at the campground, several folks were discussing upgrading my house power from 30 amp to 50 amp. I have the ECC now and they were saying one possibility would be to bring 50 amp service in to the coach and run it through a breaker, that would eliminate the need for messing with the house wiring. I dont like the idea of messing with the house wiring without lots of input and ideas and support. I like the ECC and it works fine at the house with no problems.

Intelligent thoughts?

I used power solutions to add more juice. I can run everything now without tripping circuit breakers. Been using it for a year without any problems. Simple to install.

homerbw............I do not know what a power solutions is.........anything to do with gerbils? I am allergic to rodents...........and Lincolnboy2.........not sure what you are trying to do. Is your coach 30 amp and you want to bring in 50 amp cord? I am doing something similar for my 1993 Gulfstream. See my posts. For my application, even though I am going to put in 50 amp power cord it will still be a 30 amp coach. The upgrade from 10 gauge wire to 6 gauge wire will help, but it is still limited by the 30 amp main breaker on coach. Is this what you are trying to do?...........ronspradley

Not sure what an ECC (Electronic Climate Control?) is, but if you upgrade to 50 amps, you will be messing with the house wiring. Not sure how you would "bring 50 amp service in the coach and run it through a breaker" without modifing the electrical system substantially.

Save a lot of space and just search 30 amp and see what we all did to run 2 AC units.

Disregard that first post. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ECC and the power management system on that coach. I'm not changing a thing on second thought.

Thanks all!
