I have a lulzbot Taz 1.0 beta (https://www.lulzbot.com) before this company even made printers they released their prototype and all the files so I printed mine from another printer (Reprap Darwin 3D printer) got all the hardware from McMaster and I use a smoothie board made for CNC machines (smoothieboard-this [Smoothieware] is all back in 08.

I have been using it since, they make the best in my opinion. But there are many others that will get the job done.

Yugo, Dangerously OT here but what size is the bed on your printer? I've almost purchased small ones on sale this season, several times, but stopped after realizing I'd be annoyed at the maximum (unglued) job sizes. I understand some can be extended on an axis or two. Any suggestions?

Very neat to see your usable projects. You have definitely tilted my Christmas splurge urge towards a printer vs. a 4kultramaxblah TV.

well congrats on not wanting to buy a zombie tube and wanting to buy a tool that will most definitally save you much money and time.

To answer your question, my bed is about 280mmY x 275mmX x 290mmZ now thats printable space, the bed is 300mm all around including the Z axis.

The "unglueing" happens from the bed not being leveled, heat (- or +), material being used (in accordance to the heat) and what material are you printing on (blue tape, glass, heat tape, hairspray etc)

Most new printers have worked out the kinks. If you are an engineering type of person then any machine could do the job, if you're not then buy a machine that has self bed leveling feature.

Also look into what you want to print most, because different nozzles (including their size) will determine what you're able to print. There is MANY types of materials. This is why I suggested the TAZ6 from lulzbot because of there ease of switching out nozzles (although its pricey).

Any mods here reading, can you please change the thread title to "3D Printing" cause it would just suit it better since there will be more information here besides the window crank.

I cant seem to find how to do this.

Title changed. In the future, please use the Report Post function to request this type of action. We aren't able to read every post & this easily could've gone unnoticed by us.

Thank you

The clamps for the air tank give me an idea for mounting my antenna mast to the rear ladder when/if I get around to rigging one up. Thanks!

(Santa tells me the boys are getting a 3D printer for Christmas this year...yeah...it's for...the boys. Indeed)
