3M Water Filtration

Has anyone had experience with these 3M filters? I've done some searching and haven't seen them mentioned before. They seem to offer great filtration (0.2 micron) and flow (3.5gpm) in a small, easy to change package. 3M discontinued the RV application but they can still be found in commercial grade applications. They last about a year and can be found on Amazon for about $100 for the filter and roughly $130-$150 for the system. I heard they came standard on some Country Coaches too.

3-M generally makes quality products. I prefer the jumbo cartridge/canister from The Water Filter Store. You can choose any type of filter you want do do nearly any type and level of filtering. I happen to use mainly just a carbon block but you can get down to 1 micron with any of several others. I'm in an area off a municipal system so I don't worry about cyst or other microbes...I just like to remove the chlorine and hose tastes so the ice cubes and coffee are good. You could wait a year between filter swaps but I don't recommend it- and most will say 6 months (as does the literature for the 3-M). It mostly depend on the gallons used but I know I can start to detect water taste changes somewhere between 6 and 10 months.
