40 ft diesel Allegro bus vs Phaeton ride

It was pointed out to me that the phaetons in the 2007-2009 (and beyond) do not have independent front suspension. For those of you with experience driving them, is there a big difference in ride between the solid axle and the independent suspension? Thank you for your thoughts.

The answer to this question would be a matter of opinion. This is something that you'll just have to find out for yourself. Go to a dealer and test drive each and form your own opinion.

I have never driven a IFS coach, but I would think that it would ride better than my non IFS coach, but I don't think it would be a deal breaker.

I had a Monaco DP with a solid front axle and now my Newmar has IFS. I'll be honest, I don't see a lot of difference in ride quality. The IFS does allow for a tighter wheel cut and mine came with disc brakes. The braking on my new coach is night and day over my other....but I do have three axles with brakes on my new coach.

IFS is better than solid...but the best is IFS with a tag.

I used to own a 2010 Phaeton on the Tiffin PowerGlide chassis. I thought the ride on that chassis was great. Now I own a Spartan chassis with IFS and a tag. So far I like the Spartan - but I haven't found it far superior to the PowerGlide. Like a previous poster mentioned, you really should drive both to make a decision...

Not sure if your chassis is a Freightliner or not but the IFS Freightliner definitely rides better
