Not sure of your 20, but the San Antonio RV show is this weekend as well if that’s any closer. They usually get a good mix of Class A’s. Running today, ends Sunday.

I'm up in Arkansas, so San Antonio is farther away. We're about to hit the road and go to Little Rock where they have a 43' Dutch Star. I'm not interested in the Dutch Star, but the wife wants to take a look at the general layout of the 43' since there isn't much difference between the Ventana and DS.

The extra HP is nice too.

Ok, my wife loved the 4369 (we looked at a DS, even though we would get a Ventana for cost reasons) with the large rear bath/shower, easier access to washer/dryer, etc.

The fact that the all electric 4369 is essentially the same as the all electric 4037, because the Oasis is standard on the 4369, makes it a no brainer.

But.

I'm really starting to get cold feed on that extra length, especially when visiting Arkansas state parks. On the one hand, I keep telling myself that my brother in law with his 42' Tiffin has no problems, so I shouldn't have a problem with the 44' 4369.

I don't think the extra 2.5' in extra length will be any problem in terms of the pads, as most of the parks I'm going to have been upgraded and many have 50 or even 70' pads. I'm more worried about the extra three foot in wheelbase and getting around on those park roads.

I've started looking at the 37' coaches, but neither of us (we aren't thin) feel like we will be happy with the 36" corner shower, and haven't found a mid bath design we like.

I know there has been quite a bit of discussion earlier in the month in this thread, but since then, I've gotten cold feet.

Am I overthinking and over concerned about the 43' coach?

We went from a 36 Itasca Suncruiser to the VTDP 4369 and love this coach. My wife wanted a king size bed, stacked washer dryer and the living and kitchen area opened up. When we saw the floorplan we bought it and no regrets. We have not had one campground turn us away due to size. Yes, overthinking will really confuse you.

Go for it. You will adapt and you will not find many places where a 40' would fit but a 43' wouldn't. With the wheel cut on these IFS RV's you will be amazed at the turning radius and maneuverability.

We had the 40’vs 43’ debate before we bought our coach and settled on the 4369. Absolutely love the larger floor plan and larger bath.
After traveling 25k miles in approx 2 years and visiting many state parks & COE campgrounds with absolutely no problems.
It’s amazing how maneuverable the 4369 is with the 60 degree wheel cut and passive steer tag
IMO you won’t regret the extra length

The state parks and possibly COE (with larger tanks, can do more camping without full hookups at COE) is where I will probably do the bulk of my long weekend trips which is a big reason we decided to get an RV. Then, hopefully once or twice a year I'll take longer trips and those likely will be commercial RV parks/resorts.

If you come to California then you will be restricted to primary roads if over 40 feet.

Yes, there are restricted routes but I don't find it that restrictive. I've never NOT been able to get to where I wanted to go. I accidentally drove Hwy 190 coming out of Death Valley and Panamint Springs. I don't think I would ever do it again even if I was in a 35'.

We make a run into CA every year with our 43' MH and 24' trailer making us 68' long we used to go in at over 70' and my son is 75' long. We get a $16 overlength permit that's good for 7 days and can be renewed. Lots of 43-45' coaches at the RV resorts in Indio. Travel in CA is no problem with the right planning.

I went from 36 to 40 and it was bigger!...but I still have no problem getting into most corp of engineer parks in AR, TX and the rest of the southeast US. My wife has noticed that 40 was the limit for some of those, but most could easily handle up to 45 with no problems. However, even if you find you can't get into one park, there is always another close by that your unit will fit. I say go for the one your heart is screaming for...otherwise, you will be trading up in a couple of years!
